Cystitis
Cystitis is far more common among women than among men. The difference is that in the female body the distance between the urethra to the bladder is only 2,5cm, in the male body 20cm. In female patients cystitis is mostly caused by the fecal bacteria Escherichia coli, sometimes by other bacteria such as chlamydien or yeast. In male patients the disease can be caused by an enlarged prostate. The symptoms are frequent and painful urination. A cystitis is a very unpleasant disease, though, normally, innocuous. However, if not treated there is a risk of the infection spreading to the kidneys.
A treatment with antibiotics can be avoided when we increase the intake of fluids and support the body with natural nutrients with antibiotic effects. Besides many herbal remedies, the medicinal mushrooms Coriolus and Cordyceps can help with an acute infection.
Coriolus (2x3 tablets) has antibacterial and antifungal effects on Escherichia coli, staphylococcus, streptococcus and candida. Cordyceps (3x1 extract capsule) has natural antibiotic-effects on bacterial inflammation.
Eating well can help and strengthen the bladder. If a cystitis occurs more than once or twice per year it is important to guard against this disease; for example with Coriolus (1x2 tablets) or Cordyceps (1x1 extract capsule), other medicinal mushrooms such as Reishi
or Shiitake (1x1 extract capsule) can also help due to their immune-stimulating effects.
